MUSCULO-CUTANEOUS NERVE ANATOMY
Musculocutaneous Nerve | Musculocutaneous Nerve Course, Branches, Muscle Supply, Test & Palsy
Musculocutaneous Nerve is Branch of lateral cord of Brachial plexus. Musculocutaneous Nerve is lie lateral to the axillary artery.
ROOT VALUE OF MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE :-
ROOT VALUE OF MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE :-
Root value of Musculocutaneous Nerve is C5 to C7.
COURSE OF MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE :-
COURSE OF MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE :-
=> Musculocutaneous Nerve supply to Coracobrchialis muscle
=> Musculocutaneous Nerve pierces intermuscular septum and lie between biceps brachii and brachioradialis muscle also this two muscle suply by Musculocutaneous Nerve.
=> In forearm Musculocutaneous Nerve become lateral cutaneous nerve of arm
BRANCHES OF MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE :-
BRANCHES OF MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE :-
=> Muscular Branches : supply to Coracobrachialis, Long and Short head of the biceps brachii and Brachialis
=> Cutaneous Branche : Supply to skin over lateral side of forearm
=> Articular Branch : Elbow Joint
MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE SUPPLY :
MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE SUPPLY :
Motor supply
=> Motor branches supply to the Coracobrachialis, Long and Short head of the biceps brachii and Brachialis
Sensory supply
=> Sensory supply by lateral cutaneous nerve of arm and it supply to skin over lateral side of forearem
MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE INJURY / MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE PALSY :-
MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE INJURY / MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE PALSY :-
=> Injury to the Musculocutaneous Nerve Loss of sholder and elbow flexion due to paralysis of biceps and coracobrachialis and brachioradialis.
=> also loss of sensation over lateral side of forearm
