RADIAL NERVE ANATOMY
Radial Nerve | Radial Nerve Course, Branches, Muscle Supply, Compration, Test & Palsy
Radial nerve comes from posterior cord of the Brachial Plexus. radial nerve lie posterior to brachial artery. Radial nerve also called ” Posterior interosseous nerve / spiral nerve ”
ROOT VALUE OF RADIAL NERVE :-
ROOT VALUE OF RADIAL NERVE :-
=> Root value of Radial Nerve is C6, C7, C8, T1
COURSE OF RADIAL NERVE :-
=> Radial nerve comes from posterior cord of brachial plexus and it lie posterior to artery
=> Radial nerve entering spiral groove of humerus bone.
=> In lower part of arm Radial nerve lie between brachioradialis and extensor carpi radialis longus
=> Radial nerve divided in two branches at cubital fossa just below lateral epicondyle
BRANCHES OF RADIAL NERVE :-
BRANCHES OF RADIAL NERVE :-
there are two branch at elbow joint
1. Superficial branch : supply to all extensor muscle of the forearm and also supply to the Radioulnar joint and Wrist joint.
2. Deep branch : supply to skin over lateral half of dorsum of foot.
Lateral cutaneous nerve of the arm : supply to skin below deltoid insertion
Posterior cutaneous nerve of arm : supply to skin over posterior compartment of the arm
Posterior cutaneous nerve of forearm : supply to skin over posterior compartment of the forearm
RADIAL NERVE SUPPLY :
RADIAL NERVE SUPPLY :

Radial nerve |
In short Radial nerve supply all the muscle of posterior aspect of arm and fore arm
MOTOR SUPPLY
IN ARM : Triceps brachii all heads
IN FOREARM :
=> Superficial Muscle of Posterior aspect of forearm :
- Anconeus
- Brachioradialis
- Extensor carpi radialis longus
- Extensor carpi radialis brevis
- Extensor digiti minimi
- Extensor digitorum
- Extensor carpi ulnaris
=> Deep Muscle of Posterior aspect of forearm :
- Abductor pollicis Longus
- Extensor pollicis brevis
- Extensor pollicis longus
- Extensor indicis
- Supinator
Sensory
Sensory supply to skin over posterior aspect of the arm and forearm. in hand sensory supply to lateral half of dorsal part of the hand
RADIAL NERVE INJURY / RADIAL NERVE PALSY :-
RADIAL NERVE INJURY / RADIAL NERVE PALSY :-
Readial nerve palsy occure due to any trauma or also it occured by fracture of humerus bone at the spiral groove. it couse wrist drop
